Queer Merri-Bek Audio Tour Launch

Join us for the launch of the Queer Histories/Queer Futures audio tour podcast, documenting the collective histories of LGBTQIA+ organising, activism and community in Merri-bek.

Featuring a free community picnic, panel discussion and all-ages workshop to celebrate the launch of this groundbreaking community history project.

Despite having one of the highest populations of LGBTQIA+ identifying people in Victoria, there is a striking lack of documented and published LGBTQIA+ histories in Merri-bek. Our audio tour seeks to address this lack of community history by creating an accessible audio tour to celebrate Merri-bek’s LGBTQIA+ histories and community aspirations.

Queer Histories/Queer Futures is a Lee Ellis working group project of Merri-bek Libraries, supported by Merri-bek City Council.
