Personal Space

A Sapphic Spectacle - where Y2K nostalgia, laughter, and your teenage diary collide
Brigitta is like every woman in her mid-30s—perpetually tired, addicted to the high of a crisp Diet Coke, and shook that clothing she wore in 2003 is back in high rotation. Inspired by the Y2K renaissance, Brigitta has dusted off a distant relic: Her teenage diary.
‘Personal Space’ is not just a show—it's a time machine back to a more authentic era that celebrates the simplicity of having a creative outlet that was truly yours, free from the pressures of likes, shares, and filters.
So dust off your old CDs, dig out your favourite butterfly clips, and join us for an unforgettable evening with Brigitta a millennial secondary teacher, out and proud fourth-generation lesbian who keeps a diary and wants to make a difference in her students’ lives by being exactly who she is.
In it’s very first season at Sydney Fringe Festival 2024, ‘Personal Space’ was shortlisted for Best in Cabaret and Musical Theatre and nominated for Best Emerging Artist.
"There’s been a mini genre of 'open a diary' festival shows. For a pleasant change, many of them very good indeed: Damian Callinan’s “Double Feature”, Cameron James’ 'Electric Dreams'. 'Personal Space; belongs in the same wonderful company."
– Chuck Moore Reviews
"Adorable Must See"
"Unapologetic and clever comedy"
"I just came back from New York City and saw some fantastic comedy. Brigitta is as good, if not better, than some of the comics I saw."
