Midsumma Carnival

Kick-start the celebrations for Midsumma Festival 2019
Presented by: Midsumma Festival

Sun 20 Jan 11am - 10pm
Alexandra Gardens, St Kilda Rd, Melbourne

We're so excited that this year's Midsumma Festival opens with Consent Festival all day on Saturday, followed by Midsumma Carnival, bigger, better and more diverse than ever before on Sunday. Celebrate the beginning of another fabulous festival with Consent Festival at the Melba Spiegeltent, then feel the vibes as we come out of the closet and into the sun for an all-day and all-night party at Alexandra Gardens.

We're bringing back your favourites (yes and the dog show) and adding a pinch of lip-syncing, drag dazzling, stellar acts, fine food and a pop-up bar. If you didn't get through the array of stalls last year then make sure you arrive at 11am as the glitter begins to stir. We have more on offer than ever before.

Peek at our program with bite sized performances, relax in the chill-out zone, meet friends in the family domain, tackle the sports precinct and stay cool in the under 18s area. See all of the special events that lead us into the evening of T Dance, featuring a fantastic line-up of sassy sounds and DJs.

With safe spaces for families, friendlies, queer kinds and groupies you know there'll be something to suit everyone. Midsumma Carnival is a glass-free event and we're conscious of our footprint on the environment. So bring your sustainable vessels and paper straws, slap on the sunscreen for a full day of festivities, then shimmy on into the night.
