Trashing Romeo and Juliet like a couple of toddlers hyped up on Push PopsPresented by La Mama Theatre
Extra performance added: Sat 20 Jan 5pm.
Two households, both alike in stupidity...
A hot new mangling of Romeo and Juliet by two of Melbourne's sharpest queer mischief makers, Kimberley Twiner and Lily Fish.
Dive into the pants of two star-crossed clowns; with a questionable knowledge of Shakespeare, limited resources, and a multitude of distractions as they attempt to stage the most profound love story ever told.
#romeoandjuliet unapologetically parodies what it is to fall for someone.
Hilarious. Absurd. Camp.
'Fish is a marvel - a protean, highly physical performer.' – Stage Whispers
'Twiner's chiseled body lines hint at dance training, or at least, copious amounts of self-critical time in front of the mirror.' – Weekend Notes
'They will influence even the straightest of minds.' – Australia Times
Created by Kimberley Twiner (The Intensive Intensive, The Baby Girls, Basha) and Lily Fish (Yarn, My Pet My Love, Born in a Taxi), co-founders of Melbourne's premier queer comedy troupe PO PO MO CO (winners New Original Circus - Melbourne Fringe 2017, nominated for Best Comedy - Melbourne Fringe 2017). Developed in residence at Women's Circus and directed by Giovanni Fusetti.
