Queer Reading Circle

Celebrate queer literature at this reading circle with Madison Kelly.
Presented by Madison Kelly

Tue 30 Jan 6 – 7.30pm
Carlton Library, 667 Rathdowne St, Carlton North

Join Madison for a Queer Reading Circle to share your experiences of different forms of queer literature. Inspire and be inspired by the diverse range of materials produced by LGBTQIA+ artists. Bring any example of writing that has enriched your queer journey - a book, comic, dreaming story, poem, zine, screenplay or maybe even a friend who is an LGBTQIA+ writer! All forms of print and storytelling welcome.

Queer reading groups promote a strong sense of community and belonging by increasing the visibility of LGBTQIA+ lived experiences. For readers who may have been excluded from hetero- and cis-normative narratives or discouraged by traditional storylines, this event is for you!

'This event takes place on the stolen land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and future, to the Indigenous artists and performers involved in the Midsumma program and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded'. – Madison Kelly.

A collated list of titles will be available via email after the event.

Free event but booking required.
