Carnival Stallholder Registrations for Midsumma 2015 have now closed.

On 18 January 2015, Midsumma will transform the Alexandra Gardens (on the southern banks of the Yarra River) into the queerest party in town, and this is your organisation's invitation. With an estimated 100,000 attending in 2011, 2012 and 2013, 2014 was even bigger with the much-anticipated return to Alexandra Gardens. After such a great day and fantastic feedback in 2014, Midsumma expect a similar sized crowd in 2015.

Throughout the day, Carnival attendees can sit with a picnic, watch the hours of free entertainment running over multiple stages and activity spaces, cruise the crowd and more importantly - find out about your business or community group! On the grassy lawns of the Alexandra Gardens, Midsumma will host between 100-120 stalls, populated by varying community groups, government agencies, liaison units and commercial businesses.

Stalls come with a variety of capabilities - i.e. powered sites, unpowered sites, double stalls and you can order additional chairs and tables to suit your needs. This variation is to allow all to be involved, overcoming price-point exclusion. Check out the Specifications page to see the types of stalls we've had in the past.

Want to be a part of the action at Carnival, but unsure if your budget will stretch that far? Midsumma offers an earlybird special to those quick off the mark! All registrations received before the earlybird cutoff date (31 August in 2014) will be charged a special earlybird discounted rate!

When to Register: Midsumma Carnival Stallholder registrations will open on 1 July 2014.

A reminder that no stallholders are permitted to sell food or beverages from their stall. This right is reserved for Food Vendors. If you're wanting to request a Food Vendor stall, please check out our Food Vendors page.

Earlybird Discount: book during the earlybird time-frame to receive significant discounts!
To get the earlybird discounted fees you must book your stall before 31 August 2014 then pay your invoice before 7 September 2014. Any invoices not paid before 7 September will convert to the full rate as of 8 September 2014.

Shared community stalls

In 2015, Midsumma is offering a new class of stall - available to small community groups only.
We are offering the opportunity for small community groups (see Pricing) to book a 'shared stall'. These shared stalls are half the rate of a full 3x3m standard marquee and you receive half the space to use, i.e. one 3m space facing the public, one table and one chair.

Shared Stalls have been developed following feedback that some groups want to represent themselves at Carnival, however cannot afford the $300 fee for a standard community stall at earlybird rates. 2014 shared stall rates are on the next page.

Please note that you can input placement requests as to who you might like to share your stall with, however this is NOT GUARANTEED. Midsumma will allocate all shared stalls with care and thought, however will not change these allocations without a very good reason.

Business Laneway

In 2015, Midsumma and GLOBE are partnering to bring together businesses of all sizes that support the GLBTI community. From small businesses owned by GLBTI people to some of Victoria’s largest businesses that support our community, the Business Laneway will be the place to go for some great giveaways, activities and meeting GLBTI friendly businesses and workplaces.

To make the space more accessible for local and small GLBTIQ business, Midsumma has introduced a shared stall section, which will be housed within the Business Laneway, which allows for commercial businesses to hire a table space within a larger shared marquee. This means that you do not have to worry about filling (or paying for) an entire stall, plus you don't have to be at your stall all day. You can feel free to enjoy Carnival as a member of the public for parts of the day and as a stallholder for other parts of the day.
