Submit your interest now to present your Midsumma Festival 2022 event at these venues

With Midsumma right around the corner, venues are starting to seek expressions of interest for their Midsumma Festival Programs, 23 Jan to 13 Feb, 2022.

It's no secret that time slots at these venues go pretty fast, so get your submission in quick to avoid missing out on the perfectly tailored venue to suit your event.

Abbotsford Convent

1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford

Australia's largest arts precinct is looking for creative projects that respond to the ‘new normal’ of our physically distanced world. With a diverse array of outdoor and indoor spaces, the Heritage Listed Convent Precinct offers additional character to embolden your Midsumma event.

Bluestone Church Arts Space

8A Hyde St, Footscray

A truly unique historic venue, Bluestone Church Arts Space features stained glass windows in the vestry to add ambience to any type of event. To top it off, Maribyronong City Council is offering local LGBTQIA+ artists free use of the space, marketing support and will cover your rego fees.

The Butterfly Club

Carson Place (off Little Collins St), Melbourne CBD.

Two intimate performing spaces to choose from in a quirky, inner city location, with award winning foyer bars for those pre or post shows chats. The Butterfly Club is suited for soloists or small casts and has a self professed soft spot for cabaret and satires.

The year-round home of fiercely ground-breaking music and events, Fringe Common Rooms is committed to rebellion, inclusivity and creativity. The Ballroom and The Lounge spaces are unique characters in themselves, waiting to bring your event to life with good vibes only.

Gasworks Arts Park

21 Graham St, Albert Park

Renown to be a popular southside hub during Midsumma Festival, Gasworks Arts Park offers two transformable black box spaces, creating the perfect blank canvas to splash with rainbow pride. Wanting a big audience or space for a trapeze? Gasworks are experts at catering for large scale shows.

The MC Showroom

L1/48 Clifton St, Prahran

Tucked in the heart of Prahran, the MC Showroom is the perfect black box theatre space for all your performance needs. This indie venue welcomes experimental and adventurous work from artists, with quirky creativity at its core.

Queen Victoria Women's Centre

210 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne

Fresh faced to Midsumma but with a history that spans back to 1848, the Queen Victoria Women's Centre is no stranger to supporting women (cis, trans and non-binary inclusive) and their creative experiences. With two airy spaces on offer, be the first Midsumma event to perform or exhibit at this iconic CBD venue in 2022.

Theatre Works

14 Acland St, St Kilda

Located in the heart of St Kilda, Theatre Works prides itself on showcasing edgy and boundary-pushing queer works. With three diverse spaces to choose from, this playful hub beats nothing but loud and proud.

Victorian Pride Centre

79-81 Fitzroy Street St Kilda

The brand new hub for Victoria’s diverse LGBTQIA+ communities, the Victorian Pride Centre is the perfect location for presenting in a queer central setting. With a multipurpose theatrette, the Centre welcomes all event ideas - the limit is your imagination.
