Living in the Queerantine "…And Nowhere To Go." by Logan Mucha

This piece was commissioned by Midsumma as part of the COVID-19 responsive initiative Living in the Queerantine. Midsumma launched the small grants program as a response to the mass loss of the Melbourne queer arts industry (due to COVID-19). This piece is part of a series of works from our LGBTQIA+ arts community, that gives Midsumma audiences an insight into queer art during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

~ Logan Mucha

"The project is a video portrait series of diverse individuals from Melbourne’s queer community isolating at home. Participants were asked to get out of their comfy iso clothes and dress up for the shoot as if ready for a night out. Through quarantine, the queer community has largely been stripped of our public-facing self-expression, so this work aims to give queer agency back to the individual during this crisis and celebrate of our diverse community."
