Midsumma Festival 2024
There’s no better way to celebrate the beginning of a new year than with the pride-fuelled, creativity of Midsumma Festival.
This year’s festival showcases the talent and work of more than 5000 culture makers, artists and performers.
Kicking off with the much-loved Midsumma Carnival at Alexandra Gardens, the festival includes over 200 events – from theatre, dance, art, music and comedy to the iconic Midsumma Pride March and much more.
Midsumma will also make its mark beyond Melbourne, with events in Wangaratta, Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong, Echuca, Mildura, Shepparton, Gippsland and across the Bass Coast.
Last year the festival welcomed over 300,000 attendees, and 2024 is set to be another epic year.
The Victorian Government is a longstanding – and very proud – supporter of Midsumma, because in Victoria equality is not negotiable and the diversity, vibrancy and creativity of our LGBTQIA+ communities should be celebrated.
Congratulations and thank you to the Midsumma team, to the participating creatives and to the many volunteers who bring this festival to life.
