Buying Tickets

Once you've browsed through the 2013 program, and you're ready to buy tickets or make a booking, just go to any of the events for which you want to make a booking and click on the "Buy Tickets" (or "Register...") button. Of course that link won't be there if no registration or ticket is needed!

A booking fee of $2.50 applies per Midsumma transaction - a transaction being all the tickets that you add to your shopping basket prior to pressing Finalise Order. So click on the green TO ANOTHER EVENT button (under Purchase Additional Tickets) to group your bookings so you only pay a single booking fee.
Some events are ticketed through an external booking agency rather than through Midsumma. In this case you will be redirected to the external ticketing agency, and their individual fees will apply. Where you only need to register (i.e. no payment is needed), no booking fees are charged.

Midsumma Box Office (now also open Sat 12 Jan 12pm-4pm)

Midsumma has a box office in Bourke St, just half a block from the Bourke St Mall right in the heart of town!

The Midsumma Box Office will be open from 3 January to 3 February 2013 and is located on the Ground Floor, 225 Bourke Street, Melbourne (that's midway between Swanston & Russell Sts). Opening hours are 10am to 5pm weekdays.

You can also purchase tickets online - just browse the program and click on Buy Tickets in any ticketed event, or you can book over the phone on 03 9415 9819 between 10am and 5pm weekdays.

How To Book Tickets online

You can buy tickets online for any event that has the Buy Tickets button displayed. All our prices are displayed in Australian Dollars (AUD) only. If you've purchased tickets via midsumma.org.au in the past or you are a Midsumma member, your details will already be on our system, enabling you to sign-in to avoid needing to enter your details each time you book. Signing into the booking page has lots of advantages:
  • You are only required to add your contact details once and will never have to re-enter them again no matter how many times you purchase.
  • You can review past transactions.
  • You can recreate Print at Home tickets and Confirmation emails.
  • For Midsumma members/VIP's, your discounted prices will be displayed once you sign in.
  • You can update your personal details.

The Sign-in Screen

  • First Time Customers: enter your email address (twice) under CREATE NEW ACCOUNT then press continue and follow the prompts.
  • Returning Customers: enter your email and password in the LOGIN panel on the left then press continue and follow the prompts.
    • Forgotten your password? Just click on the Forgot your password? link and you'll be sent an email to reset your password.
    • On our database, but with no password: if you've booked tickets previously, but didn't setup a password, you can do so now by clicking on Returning customer, but no password yet? and following the prompts.

Companion Cards
Some events display the Companion Card logo ( Companion Card accepted ). Companion Card holders should order their tickets via the Midsumma Box Office.

Midsumma Members
Where discounted pricing is offered to Midsumma Members, be sure to sign-in prior to selecting your tickets so that the Midsumma Member pricing appears for you as a ticket option.

Group Discounts
If a group discount is available it will appear as one of the ticket options. If you don't select at least the minimum number of tickets required to qualify for a group discount, you won't be able to proceed beyond the ticket selection screen though.

Booking Extra Tickets

Booking extra ticketsOnce you've finished entering details for your first order, before entering your credit card details you can order tickets to extra shows, or order extra blocks of tickets to the same show. This means you'll only get a single $2.50 booking fee for the entire order.

  • Booking tickets to other shows: click on the green TO ANOTHER EVENT button, select the event and follow the prompts. Repeat for as many shows as you want to book for.
  • Booking more tickets to the same show: click on the green TO THIS EVENT button and follow the prompts.

Once you've made all your selections, enter the Credit Card and Contact details then press Finalise Order to complete your transaction. A booking fee of $2.50 applies per Midsumma transaction - a transaction being all the tickets that you add to your shopping basket prior to pressing Finalise Order.  This is a one-off fee, so try to group your bookings to minimise booking fees.

  • Box-office collection: your ticket can be collected from the box office of the venue where the event is being held, or in some cases, your name will simply be crossed off a list at the door of the venue. You can also drop in to the Midsumma Box Office prior to the date of the event to have a ticket printed if you wish.

Either way, please bring along photo ID when collecting your tickets.
